Efficient Consumer Response Ireland announce new Co-Chairs.
Efficient Consumer Response (ECR) Ireland announces the appointment of their new Co-Chairmen, Retailer Co-Chair as James Wilson (Superquinn) and Supplier Co-Chair as John Casey (Allied Logistics). James Wilson succeeds Tony Keohane (Tesco) and John Casey succeeds Ciaran Sullivan (Nestle) who both retired as Chairmen of the Association after their successful tenure.
ECR Ireland is a joint trade and industry body, launched in 1998 to make the food & drink sector as a whole more responsive to consumer demand and promote the removal of unnecessary costs from the supply chain. ECR Ireland organizes projects where companies explore new areas of working together to fulfil consumer wishes better, faster and at less cost or deepen existing experiences. The results of these projects are presented at our annual ECR Ireland conference that attracts the most senior Directors and Managers in the country. Participation in projects is open to large and small companies in the grocery and fast moving consumer goods sectors - including retailers, wholesalers, manufacturers, suppliers, brokers and third-party service providers such as logistics operators.
James Wilson says, “At a time when both retailers and suppliers are facing enormous economic pressure, we believe it is more important than ever for us to focus our scarce resources on practical collaboration projects that can yield a quicker impact on both businesses. We very much hope to channel the ECR efforts on such activities.”

Declan Carolan, General Manager of ECR Ireland says, “I am really pleased to have James Wilson as Retailer Co-Chair. Superquinn is a long-standing member and have contributed greatly to ECR at a national & European level over the years. James’ experience, energy and enthusiasm for tackling industry issues will be a real asset to ECR. John Casey has long been a supporter of taking costs out of the supply chain and improving master data management. I will welcome his vision and strategic perspective on ECR.”
