Holistic Shopper Research 2009
Irish consumers are experiencing increasing financial pressures, have been jolted out of their habits and are reassessing where they shop, what products they buy and how they shop.
Irish retailers & manufacturers must understand these changing needs & purchase patterns so that they can gain competitive advantage by satisfying the consumers' new demands.
Do you know how your consumer has changed?
The biggest challenge facing everyone is how to best respond to the dramatically changing consumer needs in the new economic landscape. To assist this process, and avoid every company carrying out broadly similar research, ECR have commisioned Behaviour & Attitudes to conduct a comprehensive survey of shopper habits specifically focussing on how they seek out value for money, promotions and shopping in Northern Ireland.
This ECR Ireland research will provide subscribers with the most direct, current and insightful consumer analyses at the most affordable cost. For most companies, the cost of commissioning such a study proves to be prohibitive - the advantage of joining the ECR Ireland research is that our collaborative initiative makes it cost effective for participants.
Specific 2009 research objectives are to gather reliable, independent information from a representative sample of grocery shoppers in the Republic of Ireland regarding:
· The changes in key consumer shopping behaviours in 2009 vs. 2008
· Additional insights of use in understanding the change in behaviour from 2008 to 2009.
· An understanding of likely future consumer shopping behaviour over the following 12 months.
· A special half day interactive workshop with the research team from Behaviour & Attitudes at which the research findings are converted to strategic action.
Feedback on the questionnaire has been taken from both supplier and retailer ECR Board Members making this consumer research the most complete and affordable available today.
Fieldwork will be carried out during October & November 2009 and Subscribers to the research will receive their results together with an interactive workshop delivered by Ian McShane, MD Behaviours and Attitudes.
The cost of the 2009 research has been reduced by 50% as follows
· ECR Ireland members - €3,000
· ECR Ireland Non-Members - €3,500
