Join ECR Ireland 2011
Efficient Consumer Response Ireland is about Irish based companies working together to satisfy Irish consumer wishes and to drive out unnecessary costs from the supply chain.
All retailers & suppliers of consumer products in Ireland are invited to join ECR Ireland 2010.
The objective of the CatMan Workgroup is “to advance the standards of category management in Ireland”. It is expected that category management activities will progress further during 2011 as all companies active in category management participate and the first industry “Blue Book” on ECR best practice is published.
New for 2011 is the establishment of an ECR Supply Chain Workgroup and an ECR Shrinkage Share Shop.
The Supply Chain Workgroup will have the objective of delivering fewer, friendlier miles and promoting efficient sustainable distribution within the grocery sector in particular and the Irish supply chain in general. It will be held quarterly and participants from retailers, suppliers / manufacturers and 3rd party logistics providers will be welcome to join.
Shrinkage refers to all intended sales income that does not or cannot be realized. Such shrinkage can be malicious or non-malicious and in-store or process related. Either way, specific shrinkage management techniques are required to better control it. While the ECR Shrinkage Roadmap is a proven Best Practice methodology for shrinkage management, the objective of the Shrinkage Share Shop will be to establish best practices for managing shrink in Ireland. It will be held quarterly and participants from retailers, store owners/managers and suppliers/manufacturers of high value goods in particular are welcome to join.
Also new is the creation of a Service Providers Membership and Directory, details of which can be downloaded below.
The major initiative for ECR Europe 2011 is the launch of a Roadmap for Shopper Marketing at the ECR Europe Conference in April. The Roadmap, designed in conjunction with Dr. Brian Harris (designer of the ECR Category Management 8-Step Process in 1989) is the most significant ECR publication in many years and is expected to become a key & vital process for the global grocery industry. ECR Ireland will become an early adopter of the Roadmap and ensure that the members of the CatMan Workgroup become experts in its application.
